Reveal These Things

Reflecting on Deuteronomy 29:29

      Reveal These Things

I know that I don’t know, and
When I do know, I learn just
How much I do not know!
But I wish that I might know!
Show me you who are.
At the edge I know some things,
and I peer in to know more.
Again I wish to listen and be open, to
Know more.
In these struggles,
seeking to know God,
We each struggle to see our purpose.
Reveal these things!
Constrain me not by what I seek,
But reveal to me what is your will.
Know me!
You know my way!
Reveal these things.
I may yet listen quietly.
Reveal these things!

Deuteronomy 29:29

New English Translation (NET)

Secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those that are revealed belong to us and our descendants forever, so that we might obey all the words of this law.

About Tom Bolton

I'm a Husband and Dad, a former Enterprise Systems Manager at the City of Milwaukee, and a Disciple and Lay Servant at First United Methodist of West Allis. As I study the Bible, sometimes I feel moved to work through my understanding by writing poetry. I also am continuing to learn in my dialysis experience and pursuit of a kidney transplant. Sometimes I just feel like writing about something that grabs my attention too.
