Are There Yet Struggles

On Col. 3:5

Are There Yet Struggles?

It sounded easy at one time.
Filled with hope, I knew it would be.
My struggles over, my face glowed.
And yet the battles with my flesh showed.
Peace behind me, and peace ahead,
my life seemed ready for new ease.
Did I know fully the direction of my life?
Did I know new ease and freedom from strife?
Sin crowds in sometimes,
countered in a constant battle.
Faith leads us to glorious hope,
but doesn’t end life struggles–Nope!

Colossians 3:5The Voice (VOICE)

So kill your earthly impulses: loose sex, impure actions, unbridled sensuality, wicked thoughts, and greed (which is essentially idolatry).

About Tom Bolton

I'm a Husband and Dad, a former Enterprise Systems Manager at the City of Milwaukee, and a Disciple and Lay Servant at First United Methodist of West Allis. As I study the Bible, sometimes I feel moved to work through my understanding by writing poetry. I also am continuing to learn in my dialysis experience and pursuit of a kidney transplant. Sometimes I just feel like writing about something that grabs my attention too.
